The Centers for Disease Control recently reported that nearly half of American adults have some form of periodontitis. This is considered an advanced form of gum disease.

At one time, a scalpel and stitches were needed to remove infected gum tissue and close it again. At Family Dental of Spokane Valley, WA, we have a better way to deal with gum disease.

Laser dentistry allows our dentist to repair the infected tissue without surgery. The laser also seals the gums so stitches usually are not needed. Dr. Ellsworth discusses our dental lasers in the video below.
